Business Retreats Are More Than Just a Weekend Away

Weekend with friends. Girls' getaway. Retreat.

We hear these words tossed around all the time. But have you ever actually done one? I recently went on a business retreat and let me tell you: it was absolutely worth it.

Yes, I host retreats. But I also go to them. And this one reminded me why.

There’s something magical about being surrounded by a supportive, encouraging community. Outside of my amazing parents and brother, I found my creative community in 2020 and this year, I took a weekend out of my business to pour back into it, with people who truly get what it means to create and run something from the heart.

This retreat was full of conversation, inspiration, creativity, and laughter. And though I was the youngest in the group, everyone stepped up to take care of me like a little sister. Going into it, I wasn’t sure how I’d fit in. I’m usually the quiet one, the type who hangs back and listens. But let’s just say, being a wallflower wasn’t an option here. These ladies pulled me in, made space for me, and reminded me how good it feels to be truly seen and accepted.

Not everyone there knew what chainmaille was (shocking, I know!), but that didn’t matter. We were all creatives building something meaningful, and we spent the weekend reflecting on our businesses, encouraging each other, and just having fun. I even made my very first junk journal and painted a butterfly for self care, both totally outside my usual wheelhouse and totally delightful.

That’s the thing about retreats, they give you space to reconnect with yourself, your creativity, and your business.

So, if you’ve ever thought about doing a retreat whether it’s a full weekend or just a creative day with your favorite people I can honestly say it’s worth it. You never know what you’ll walk away with, but it might just be exactly what you need.
